edaWorkshop emerged out of the "Ekompass-Workshop"
The edaWorkshop emerged in 2007 from the "Ekompass-Workshop" which was launched in 2002 to exchange solutions for key EDA challenges. Since 2002, the annual spring event has served as a platform for presenting the results of EDA research projects supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the Ekompass funding program. As the organizer, edacentrum decided to expand the event concept, which had been successful for five years, and incorporate it into the “edaWorkshop.”
* The “Design Platforms for Complex Applied Systems and Circuits” (Ekompass) funding program was established by the BMBF to stimulate EDA research activities aimed at solving current and future problems in electronic circuit design. The areas that are important for the competitiveness of German industry are supported by a joint approach involving industry, research, and the public sector.
A significant innovation of the edaWorkshop is that the event is open to the entire German EDA community. A program committee comprising leading EDA experts from industry and research ensures the high quality of the accepted contributions, which are published in a conference proceedings. The event is organized by edacentrum in cooperation with the BMBF, the DLR, and the GI/GMM/ITG cooperation group “Computer-Aided Circuit and System Design.”
