ADTC and edaWorkshop

The last event was the ADTC & edaWorkshop24 on April 9-10, 2024 in Dresden.

Since 2009, the two established events edaWorkshop and ADTC have been held together in Dresden every two years. They share a common day and thus offer an efficient and exciting platform for cooperation and technical exchange between R&D projects and leading experts from all over Europe.

The edaWorkshop is the central German event on EDA in the sense of electronics, design and applications as well as in the classical sense of electronic design automation and the ADTC, the European Nanoelectronics Applications, Design & Technology Conference, known as CATRENE DTC until 2015, is a counterpart at European level.

Mission of edaWorkshop and ADTC

The mission of edaWorkshop & ADTC is to support the transfer of new nanoelectronic technologies into applications with high economic value and valuable impact on societal challenges through innovation in design technologies. This explicitly includes the close cooperation of R&D experts along the entire industrial value chain.

The focus of the event is an intensive professional exchange between the leading European experts in the areas addressed, irrespective of the research programs in which the individual projects were launched. CATRENE, PENTA, ECSEL, Horizon 2020, national research programs - ADTC and edaWorkshop bring them all together for a joint technical workshop. This perfectly complements the European Forum on Electronics, Components and Systems (EFECS), which is dedicated to strategic and political discussions.

The three-day event is a balanced combination of information and communication. It offers a broad spectrum of discussions on specialist topics and EDA research projects and provides many opportunities for networking. This is supported by an extensive poster exhibition, in which demonstrations and prototypes are also presented.

History of all ADTC & edaWorkshops held to date.

With a mix of representatives from industry and academic research, the event creates ideal conditions for a professional exchange of ideas and results on a scientific basis. The dialog can pave the way for industry to benefit from the research results.

The approximately 100 participants include project managers and leading experts from R&D projects in the fields of nanoelectronics, design technologies and their applications, representatives from the research and development departments of semiconductor manufacturers, as well as microelectronics experts from areas such as automotive and Industry 4.0 and numerous research institutions from the European scientific community.

Financing concept

ADTC/edaWorkshop are organized as a cooperation event for experts in this field of the EDA. All participants benefit from the intensive exchange of information and share the costs, which are kept low. It is a non-profit event, the local organizers receive no remuneration for their work. Most participants actively contribute to the event, e.g. as speakers or panelists, so participation is not free of charge.
