Project Coordination Services

For publicly funded, industry-led R&D projects in microelectronics design—spanning methods, tools, and applications—the edacentrum assumes critical cross-project tasks under the "Agreement for the Reimbursement of Expenses". 

These encompass services for members and the following offerings:

Services for EDA-Projects

  • Support in initiating and preparing projects (consortium formation, project outline, project description, etc.)
  • Assistance during project execution
  • Support during project evaluation
  • Facilitation of collaborations
  • Public relations for projects (via newsletters, press, and events)
  • Hosting of project websites
  • Organization and execution of project events

Project Preparation

During the application phase, the edacentrum leverages its specialized expertise and experience to collaborate closely with project consortia. It supports the creation of high-quality project outlines and descriptions, provides key guidance on proposal design, and awards its quality certification (edacentrum label). Additionally, it relieves project partners of organizational and coordination tasks, allowing them to focus on technical aspects. Specific services include:

  • Assisting in identifying and selecting challenges to address through national/international funding initiatives
  • Initiating R&D projects with qualified partners
  • Supporting the formation of suitable project consortia
  • Detailed information on ongoing and planned funding programs
  • Technical advisory services for proposal submissions, project outlines, and descriptions
  • Review of project outlines and descriptions

Project Execution

During implementation, the edacentrum supports projects through its cross-disciplinary technical and organizational expertise, ensures quality via evaluation support, organizes the edaWorkshop for public presentation of results, and—upon request—hosts additional project workshops. It also manages project websites, fosters inter-project collaboration, and more. Specific services include:

  • Advisory support for ongoing funded projects, aligned with funders
  • Hosting of project websites
  • Guidance on project report preparation
  • Platforms to publish project results (newsletters, workshops, conferences, technical press)
  • Organization of national and international project workshops
  • Cross-project workshops for EDA funding clusters
  • Facilitating contacts between/among projects
  • Participation in standardization activities and roadmaps (e.g., SIA, CATRENE, ENIAC)
  • Consolidation of standardization interests
  • Advising on commercialization of tools developed in funded projects
  • Support for spin-off creation
