FP7 Project "SmartCoDe" at CeBIT 2012: Saving Energy through ICT

One of the major challenges today is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. In this context, small buildings and neighbourhoods account for approx. 40% of the overall energy consumption in Europe. While presenting first results at its booth at CeBIT 2012, the FP7 EU project SmartCoDe demonstrated to Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, that microelectronics can be the key enabling technology to solve the problems.

"eda10trum" - The edacentrum celebrates his 10th anniversary

Ten years ago, supported by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research the edacentrum has been founded by the German industry. In charge of the founders the registered association bundled, reinforced and supported German research and development in EDA. This was an important step taken to giving the EDA in society, politics and industry, the place that it deserves as a key to Microelectronics and thus the products of the future.
