Grid Intelligence: Bridging the current IPCEI ME/CT and the future IPCEI AST
Tomáš Bort, Mycroft Mind
Abstract
The presentation 'Grid Intelligence: Bridging the current IPCEI ME/CT and the future IPCEI AST' focuses on the strategic continuity between these two major European frameworks. As the expansion of AI data centres and gigafactories creates unprecedented pressure on Europe's energy grid, the role of microelectronics must evolve.
I will outline how the lessons learned from integrating autonomous AI into edge devices (within IPCEI ME/CT) serve as the essential groundwork for the next generation of 'Grid Intelligence' planned for IPCEI AST. The session will show how we are moving from testing smart algorithms in small devices to building a truly resilient energy grid. It’s about taking what we’ve proven in R&D and scaling it up to ensure that Europe’s infrastructure can keep up with the massive digital growth we see ahead.
