The Barcamp Format
Barcamps, also known as "unconferences," differ significantly from classical conferences. Whereas speakers are traditionally booked for conferences, barcamps consist only of participants. In the lead-up to the event day, these participants create a joint program together, involving all attendees. In this so-called session planning, talks are announced, discussions are arranged, and workshops are offered. This results in a diverse program that precisely matches the wishes of the participants. The concept places everyone on an equal footing. Along with the active involvement of all individuals, this approach fosters an intensive exchange of knowledge, generates new ideas, initiates joint projects, and helps forge connections. Not to mention, participants have a lot of fun over the two days.

The sixth edaBarCamp took place on September 19–20, 2024, at Infineon Technologies AG in Neubiberg.
The fifth edaBarCamp took place on February 18–19, 2020, at IBM Deutschland Research & Development in Böblingen.
The fourth edaBarCamp took place on February 26–27, 2019, at X-FAB Semiconductor Foundries GmbH in Erfurt.
The third edaBarCamp took place on December 11–12, 2017, at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH), Institute of Microelectronic Systems (IMS), in Hannover.
The second edaBarCamp took place on July 5–6, 2017, at the Robert Bosch Center for Power Electronics (RBZ), Oferdinger Straße 50, 72768 Reutlingen.
The first edaBarCamp, planned with the support of edacentrum, took place on November 17–18, 2016, at Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH), Institute of Microlectronic Systems (IMS), Hannover, in Hannover.
