Arrival by car
From the “Berliner Ring” (A 10), follow the signs to "Berlin- Zentrum". Coming from the feeder road (A 115), follow signs for "Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf" when entering the inner circle (A 100). Exit at gateway “Kurfürstendamm”. Drive down the Kurfürstendamm until you reach the “Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church”. From there turn right into the “Rankestrasse”. After 150 m you will find the hotel on the left-hand side of the “Los-Angeles- Platz”. Parking facilities are located in the underground car park.

Arrival by train
From Berlin main station take the local train S5 (direction Westkreuz), S7 (direction Potsdam), S9 (direction Spandau) or S75 (direction Spandau), get off at station "Zoologischer Garten". The Steigenberger Berlin is situated 500 m south of the station.

Arrival by plane

Airport Tegel (TXL)
Tegel is situated in the north-west of Berlin, approx. 8 km from the city centre. It is linked to the city highway and served by Bus 109 to Zoologischer Garten, which takes approx. 30 minutes to the hotel.

Airport Schönefeld (SXF)
Schönefeld is situated in the southeast of Berlin, approx. 18 km from the city centre. Passengers can travel to Berlin on the Airport Express. It takes approx. 30 minutes to get to the hotel.

Airport Tempelhof (THF)
Tempelhof is located in the south of the city. Direct bus services and underground lines take passengers to the city centre within 10 - 20 minutes.

Social Event

Have you ever experienced culinary delights whilst in the surrounding of fascinating exotic plants and amazing colorful Coral fish? The Aquarium Candle-light Dinner takes place in the zoo aquarium and is the perfect way to discover the underwater world whilst being watched by elegantly floating angel fish and fierce, hungry looking sharks.

Inside the new part of the zoo aquarium with its seven massive salt-water tanks you will find several highlights besides the home to the impressive Cownose Ray (Rhinoptera bonasus). A continuous water current ensures that the fish have the impression of continuously swimming forward.

Apart from that you will listen to a performance of Jaqueline Boulanger, who has a repertoire of traditional Jazz standards as well as original material, all of which she sings with masterful technique, mixing some blues inflection with Soul where it makes sense.

THE STORY OF BERLIN - The Capital's Exhibition

Embark on a journey through time spanning 800 years of Berlin's history, beginning when the city was first regarded as a trading centre in the 13th century, and ending in the present day. Hear, see, smell, and feel history! Step into the exhibition scenery - equipped with specially designed lighting, slide shows, video projections, interactive touch screens, and historic recordings - and cross the boundary from spectator to living participant.

The guided tour through the original radiation-proof bunker underneath the “Ku'damm-Karree” shopping centre will be part of your visit.

Reichstag Building

The Reichstag building, just a few paces from the Brandenburg Gate, is the symbol of modern Berlin. Having moved from Bonn to Berlin, the German parliament (Bundestag) now convenes in the traditional German parliament building.

The new cupola on the roof of the Reichstag, recently designed by Sir Norman Foster, attracts many visitors. The 800-ton steel and glass accessible structure has a forty meter high viewing platform where you have a wonderful view of the city and even an insight into German politics. Placing importance on ecological construction methods, Foster designed the huge reflecting cylinder in the middle of the cupola to funnel light into the plenary chamber below.

The Reichstag building was built in 1894 according to plans by Paul Wallot and was destroyed by fire in 1933. Due to security requirements, visitors are required to register for their visit two weeks in advance. Therefore we ask you to indicate your intention to participate on the registration form.
