Analog Circuits: What is your Worst Case?

Abstract:

This presentation will take a different approach compared to the previous talks in this session. It will be about analog circuits. Even in today s digital world , their importance is actually increasing. Digital circuits can interface with the real world only by using analog components. And increasingly, the basic building blocks of digital circuits are behaving in an analog manner.

We will review Some fundamental concepts in tolerance issues of analog circuit design will be reviewed. It will be discussed what it means to design for x sigma and what role correlations play. Finally, next challenges in analog circuit optimization will be treated and it will be asked what might be learned from analog for statistical timing issues in digital circuit design.
